The arts are alive in Calaveras County! Indeed, creativity finds a comfortable home within our rugged river canyon borders
and secluded historic villages. An astonishing number of writers, artists, performers and musicians call Calaveras County
home.
FACES for the Future
FACES for the Future is a collaborative effort involving Children's Hospital & Research Center at Oakland, the Oakland
and Berkeley Unified School Districts, and other community and academic institutions in the Bay Area. Launched in August of
2000, the three-year internship program introduces underrepresented minority high school students to the health professions,
assists them in getting into educational programs of their choice, and equips them with the necessary personal skills to succeed
in these and other demanding pursuits.
The California Wellness Foundation Leadership Recognition Program
The mission of The California Wellness Foundation is to improve
the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention. Recognizing
and encouraging leaders who are working to improve health and wellness in their communities is one of the Foundation's goals.
Morning Star Foundation
Morning Star Foundation is an organization that is
committed to creating public awareness for the protection and preservation of all Indigenous Nations on Mother Earth. Their
primary purpose is to protect and support “Traditional” Elders, Sacred Sites, Sacred Burial Grounds, and Sacred
Ceremony. They acknowledge and respect all Indigenous Nation’s spiritual and cultural teachings and lifestyles.
Boxer Rescue
Boxer Rescue Fund Inc. Los Angeles is an organization founded in 1977 that received non-profit status in May 1997 and is staffed

Amigos de las Américas
For over 40 years, Amigos de las Américas has facilitated transformational community
service involving more than 20,000 youth Volunteers and thousands of communities in Latin America. Through their programs,
high school and college-aged Volunteers jump in with head, heart, and hands to contribute to health, education, and environmental
service projects.
